I saw him on Fox News the other day with Megyn (whom I absolutely love) and an atheist talking about people being offended by Christmas trees. Mr. Donohue was absolutely in your face crazy and offensive and rude that I was ashamed that he claimed to represent Catholics. Believe what you may, Mr. Donohue, but don't act like a childish jerk and then wonder why people of other faiths (or no faith at all) treat you with such animosity.
How I wish we could replace him with someone else. I respectfully disagree with Archbishop Dolan that we need Bill. We don't need someone like him at all. I don't think we need a wishy-washy replacement or someone that is apologetic about our faith. Not at all. We just need someone with manners.
I've always thought the same. I mean, God bless Mr. Donohue, but he needs to stop correcting people via steamroller. He needs to follow the example of Christ. Christ corrected his adversaries with love, patience and that crackin' Catholic wit that silenced His critics. Sure, the Lord threw tables around and got into people's faces when they were selling stuff in the Temple...but He only did that one time...you don't see him getting into Mary Magdalene's face, screaming at her to repent! :D
